Imagine if the world we lived in wasn’t afraid of doing things a little differently, especially in the workplace. Work takes up a big part of our lives, but many of us are used to pushing through instead of pausing to ask what we actually need to keep going.
Recently, a rootid team member shared that their workload was leading to burnout. We’re a small team and losing one person means our whole approach can collapse. We very easily could’ve told our colleague: we’re sorry, that’s awful, but everyone has too much on their plate, so there’s nothing we can do to help. Instead, we responded differently.
We showed up. We reflected. We shared ideas. Together, we voted on a path forward and are now testing and refining a solution as a team.
We’re far from perfect. But this moment was a vivid reminder of our shared humanity and how when we come together to protect and nourish our relationships and work culture, we create the conditions for more thoughtful, sustainable and human-centered solutions.
We share this as a reminder that when we all slow down and create a space where each one of us are truly valued, we embody a workplace and world where fearless curiosity and reimagination can thrive.
